Salmon Meal Prep Done Right: Seared, With the Glaze on the Side

August 26, 2026 · 3 min read

Salmon meal prep usually means dry fish and a soggy glaze. Ours is seared, served over rice with a side of honey-soy glaze you drizzle on. 44g protein.

Salmon is the protein everyone wants in their meal prep and the one almost nobody trusts a delivery service to get right. Fair enough — badly handled salmon is dry, fishy, and sad. So when we added our Soy-Glazed Salmon to the menu this week, we built the whole plate around one question: how does this eat on Tuesday, not just the second it leaves the pan?

Salmon meal prep that survives the fridge

Here's the plate: a seared salmon filet over basmati rice, next to our brand-new vegetable medley — zucchini, yellow squash, and bell pepper. The salmon gets a hard sear for color and texture, and the honey-soy glaze comes on the side in its own little cup.

That last part is the trick. Glaze a filet at the kitchen and by the time it's been chilled, delivered, and reheated, the sugars have soaked in and gone soggy. Keep the glaze separate and you drizzle it on after reheating — the salmon stays crisp-edged, the glaze stays glossy, and every bite tastes like it was plated a minute ago.

What's actually in it

The ingredient list is short enough to read out loud: salmon, basmati rice, zucchini, yellow squash, bell pepper, honey, sugar, soy sauce, salt, pepper. That's it — no gums, no seed oils, nothing you'd need to look up.

The macros

With the default rice and vegetable medley, the full plate comes to:

  • 44g protein
  • 72g carbs
  • 26g fat
  • 700 calories

Salmon also brings what chicken can't: omega-3s. If most of your high-protein rotation is poultry, this is the easy way to work fish back in once a week. And like most of our menu, it's customizable — swap the rice or the greens to fit your macros.

When to eat it

Standard food-safety guidance puts cooked salmon at 3–4 days in the fridge, so we'd slot this one early in your week. We cook fresh on Sunday and deliver Sunday night, which means your salmon is a Monday or Tuesday lunch at its absolute peak.

It's on this week's menu now — and if you're comparing us on protein, our 47-grams post shows what our portions actually look like.
